GDPR and Data Protection for SMEs
Know your regulatory obligations
Both GDPR and Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 (‘DPJL’) are applicable from 25th May 2018. This guide and the accompanying checklist have been designed by the Office of the Information Commissioner to assist SMEs based in Jersey, who may not have access to extensive planning and legal resources. Using this guide will help those businesses in particular to prepare for a business future that is data-protection compliant. Anyone processing personal information must register their processing activities with the Information Commissioner, unless the nature of the processing is exempt. There is a fee for registration which can be completed by following the links to ‘Notification’ through the Information Commissioner’s website. GDPR Infographic – 6 Initial Steps
