Jersey female career stories: Making bold moves

Hear honest lessons & insights that have shaped the careers of 3 inspiring women. An evening of connection, inspiration & meaningful chats.

JERSEY FEMALE CAREER STORIES – MAKE BOLD MOVES

Brought to you by Sophie Clyde-Smith and Claudia Sutton, Co-Founders of Alt Collective

An inspiring evening of honest conversation, insight and connection, as three brilliant women share the bold moves, decisions and mindset shifts that have shaped their careers.

This panel brings together women with very different career paths — from senior corporate leadership, to self-employment, to building a successful side hustle alongside a corporate role and motherhood. What they have in common is the courage to make intentional choices, build confidence, and define success on their own terms.

Whether you’re navigating a career pivot, stepping into leadership, growing a business or side project, or simply questioning “what’s next?”, this event will leave you feeling clearer, braver and more connected.

The goal is to connect you with real stories and lessons, inspire you to reflect on your own path, and support you to grow in confidence as you make bold moves in your career and life.

Why attend?

This event is designed to empower women at every stage of their career journey. You’ll hear honest, first-hand stories about:

  • Making big decisions without having all the answers
  • Building confidence before you feel “ready”
  • Navigating career growth alongside family and personal life
  • Creating meaningful, sustainable success — in and outside of corporate environments

You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with a supportive, like-minded community of women who value growth, ambition and authenticity.

Meet the Panellists

Lauren Miller

Head of Client Management, Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management

Lauren has over 18 years’ experience in the finance sector, spanning Private Wealth and Banking. She currently leads Client Management at Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management, having stepped into a senior leadership role last year. Ambitious and known for consistently saying yes to opportunities before feeling fully ready, Lauren’s career has been shaped by curiosity, resilience and a belief that growth happens outside of comfort zones. Alongside her career, she is a passionate volunteer and fundraiser for FREEDA (formerly Jersey Women’s Refuge).

Nicola Eastwood

Certified Health Coach & Wellness Ambassador

Nicola is a Certified Health Coach supporting women 40+ to restore energy, confidence and balance through food, movement and mindset. After a 25-year career in communications and events, and experiencing burnout herself, Nicola retrained and now runs her own wellbeing business. She supports high-achieving women — many balancing work, family and health — through one-to-one coaching, group programmes, retreats and events, using her calm-first CALM Method approach.

Lucy Grimshaw

Head of Corporate Service, Ogier & Founder of @lovetearsandteepees

Lucy is a global financial services leader with over 20 years’ experience in senior corporate and governance roles, including Global Head of Product and Head of Corporate Services for a listed FTSE 250 business. She brings extensive board-level experience across multiple jurisdictions.

Alongside her corporate career, Lucy is building @lovetearsandteepees, a personal brand and creative side hustle exploring modern motherhood, ambition, and intentional living. Passionate about sharing honest career stories, Lucy is focused on creating space for women to build parallel paths, where leadership, creativity, and personal fulfilment can coexist.
