Sunday trading
Guidance for applicants for Sunday trading permits
Retailers in Jersey are able to trade on a Sunday if they have obtained a permit from the parish in which their shop is situated.
Shops with a retail sales area of 700 square metres or less can obtain a general permit that allows them to be opened on any Sunday.
Large shops that have a retail sales area in excess of 700 square metres can obtain a restricted hours permit that allows them to be opened between 10am and 4pm on any Sunday.
How to gain a Sunday trading permit
Sunday trading permits are granted by the Constable of each parish. Visit your parish hall or parish website for more information or to apply for a permit.
