Perhaps unsurprisingly Jersey is well known for three high quality food products, Jersey Royal potatoes, Jersey milk and Jersey Oysters all of which supply the local market and earn export revenue for the island. With their short growing season, Jersey Royals can be seen in the Spring months covering the island steep hillsides and Grouville Bay hosts the oyster beds which are visible at low tide.
The Jersey cow is an iconic part of Jersey’s heritage. With 24 herds across the island there are just under 3,000 cows providing not only a beautiful and iconic sight but also the islands milk supply.
Jersey Business supports companies across the agricultural and aquaculture sectors from Jersey Dairy, Jersey Oysters and Woodside Farm to smaller niche producers. We support the work and membership of Genuine Jersey aiming to ensure the sustainable production of local produce.
