The Chief Minister, Deputy Kristina Moore grew up in North Devon, where her father was a dairy farmer, and her mother was a dentist.

Deputy Moore studied French at Birmingham University and completed a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism before moving to Jersey to work at Channel Television as a reporter and anchor woman

She entered politics in 2011, chairing the Health, Social Services and Housing Scrutiny Panel, and then served as Home Affairs Minister.

In 2018, she stood as a Senator and was elected with an island-wide mandate, going on to chair two key scrutiny committees in the States Assembly: The Corporate Services Panel and the Scrutiny Liaison Committee.

In 2022, Deputy Moore was elected, with the largest popular vote in the island, to the new district of St Mary, St Ouen and St Peter.

She was elected Jersey’s first female Chief Minister and successfully nominated the island’s first gender-balanced Council of Ministers.
