COVID-19: Safe Exit for business & Changes to Family Friendly Employment Law
Safe Exit for Business Level 2 – Having moved to Level 2 of the safe exit framework on Friday 12th June 2020 the Government of Jersey has now announced the relaxing of the self distancing rule from 2m to 1m from today, 26th June.
The Government of Jersey has published updated guidelines for businesses operating at level 2 taking into account these changes. Changes to the Family Friendly Employment Law – On Sunday 28th June 2020 family friendly amendments to the Employment Law come into effect giving all new parents an entitlement to take up to 52 weeks of parental leave including 6 weeks of fully paid parental leave for both parents.
An Interim Parental Payment Scheme (IPPS) has been introduced to support businesses with a one-off lump sum payment to cover the equivalent of 6 weeks of proposed parental benefit for a second parent.
