Coronavirus – HR Advice available
You will hopefully have seen the latest update from Government with the launch of £180 million package of business support.
In addition to deferring social security and GST payments, the Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture, Lyndon Farnham today announced a new “Jersey Disruption Loan Guarantee Scheme” to support new lending through loans and overdraft, similar to that proposed in the UK.
Jersey Business are actively working with the major Jersey Banks and the officers in Government to deliver this scheme to businesses as soon as possible.
To provide further support the Minister also confirmed that the Emergency Council has agreed to consider a “Small Business Emergency Fund” and again we are actively working on this with Government as to how this can best be structured to support businesses and in particular the workforce.
With regard to business advice, in addition to all our existing support material, we are urgently developing new online help tools/ Q&A/ Podcasts to both answer immediate questions and help share best practice.
The first of these will be focused on HR advice and in that regard we will be offering free (pre booked) 1 hour sessions with HR Specialists. Applications for the consultations are open now. The Podcast should be available in the next 24 hours.
Much more will follow across a range of subject matters to ensure we are able to give sound advice and guidance to as many businesses as possible ideally delivering this ‘virtually’ given growing challenges of face to face meetings.
Please do view the advice on our website regularly, of course we are also available to call where your queries aren’t covered.
